An in-depth and experiential look at how the water element expresses itself at the level of the mind, the emotions and in the body. When the elemental water energy is flowing freely, it is a wellspring of pristine wisdom: clarity, stillness, and the ability to see reality as it is, rather than as we are. This element gives us the capacity to be open, receptive & vulnerable; in ourselves and in our relationships. It teaches us where and when to have boundaries, and how to establish boundaries that are fluid and ever-changing. When the water energy is blocked inside, it manifests as anger, distorted-seeing, defensiveness, self-loathing, sadness (and depression, if left for too long), avoidance techniques, and having unclear boundaries in relationships. There is an underlying fear of not being safe.
Learn to re-pattern your mind & your emotional tendencies in order to build emotional resiliency & safety, understand your boundaries, and cultivate the ‘wisdom of the water’. Through lecture & discussion, some partner ‘boundary-ing exercises’, tantric meditation + energy techniques, work in the emotional body & organ body, and thoughtfully-sequenced water element yoga practices, we dive into all of this and more during this 1st weekend of the 5-part “Cultivating Emotional Intelligence through Yoga”: Tantra Yoga Workshop Series with guest teacher Amanda Ings!

About Amanda Ings

Amanda came to Yoga at the young age of 18 and is living testament to the transformational affects of Yoga. Beginning with yoga-asana (postures), she shifted from a spiritually destructive lifestyle (as an international fashion model) to a deeply cohesive & constructive one through a daily practice of full embodiment and deep inner exploration. Ever since, her life has been primarily dedicated to the study of consciousness, which has gradually led to teaching yoga & meditation classes worldwide. In 2010, her most influential and adored guide, yogini adept Maa Parvathi Nanda Nath Saraswati, initiated her into the Shakti teachings of Shri Vidya Tantra Yoga, which has been the single most fundamentally re-organizing factor of her adult life. She has been studying and practicing Tantra under Maa Parvathi’s close guidance for the past 6 years, and is currently engaged in a 3-year intensive mentorship program designed to authentically represent and transmit this particular wisdom lineage.
