Introduction to Sensoria Yoga – Nov. 7

Sensoria Yoga helps the body to release stress & tension from our everyday life events, current or past/prolonged stressful situations as well as severe traumatic events.

Through the Sensoria Yoga practice, neurogenic tremors (tremors within the muscles) are induced through a gentle practice of movement & pranayama. In turn our bodies & minds are left in a very relaxed and calm state of being. When evoked in this way, these neurogenic tremors begin to release deep chronic muscular tension held within the body. They come from the center of gravity of the body (S3), which is protected by the psoas muscles. When shaking is evoked at this powerful center of the body, it reverberates throughout the entire body, traveling along the spine, releasing deep chronic tension from the sacrum to the cranium. When tension is released anywhere in the body, the brain registers a reduction in pain signals and produces new hormones for relaxation and comfort. The tremors also bestow an ‘internal massage’ to the organs within!

About Nonie

My practice of yoga began during my childhood bedtime routine, my mother called this practice, ‘The Ragdoll’. In 2010, after many years as an adult practitioner I truly found my passion, Yin Yoga. The practice of Yin Yoga facilitates the mind/body connection through deep fascial work, creating a fluid and continuous channel through which our energy can flow. Since then, my fascination with fascia and my studies progressed and led me to the facilitation Yin Yoga, TRE (neurogenic tremors) used in conjunction with Yoga Nidra to catalyze the healing of our bodies and to maintain and unite our body/mind connection within a state of absolute bliss.
